The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take effect in the UK from 25 May 2018. It replaces the existing law on data protection (the Data Protection Act 1998).
This awareness workshop is designed to give you an overview of The Echo Society’s responsibilities when it comes to collecting, using and storing people’s personal information. We’ll be looking at the main principles of data protection set out in law, and also exploring the changes that the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will bring in. Including tips on some practical actions that The Echo Society can take to meet the new GDPR requirements via information and group discussion for all volunteers, counsellors, supervisors and management with The Echo Society.
