Who we are

The Echo Society Ltd (“Echo”) is a community organisation offering support, information, events, groups, volunteering opportunities, and a counselling pathway.

We take your privacy seriously and want you to understand, in simple terms, how your information is used.

1. Two organisations may be involved in your support

When you use Echo’s services, you may interact with two different Data Controllers:

Echo Society Ltd

Echo manages the service‑level pathway, including:

  • enquiries

  • counselling intake and allocation

  • safeguarding coordination

  • continuity planning

  • events, workshops, and groups

  • volunteering

  • campaigns and outreach

Echo does not hold your clinical notes or therapeutic records.

Your Associate Counsellor

Your counsellor is an independent practitioner who provides your therapy.


They are responsible for:

  • clinical notes

  • therapeutic records

  • session content

  • clinical retention

  • clinical Subject Access Requests (SARs)

Echo cannot access or release your therapy records.

2. Why information is sometimes shared

Echo and your counsellor may share limited service‑level information where necessary for:

  • allocation

  • safeguarding

  • continuity

  • organisational responsibilities

Echo does not receive your clinical notes or therapeutic records.

3. Your privacy notices

You may receive more than one privacy notice because Echo and your counsellor hold different information.

4. Your rights

You have rights under UK GDPR, including access, correction, deletion (where applicable), and objection.

  • For Echo‑held information, contact Echo.

  • For clinical records, contact your counsellor directly.
